Make a Difference During National Public Health Week

It might seem like a simple concept: We all deserve to live a long and healthy life in a safe environment. But it takes foresight, a commitment and plenty of work for many people to achieve this goal.


National Public Health Week annually puts the spotlight on steps we all can take in order to address the causes of poor health and disease risk among people in our communities throughout the country.


Positive Change

The National Public Health website states: “Where we live, learn, work, worship and play affects each of us and can determine our health and life expectancy. In the workplace, let’s partner across public and private sectors to make sure decisions are made with the public’s health in mind.”


“Within our communities, let’s start new conversations with our neighbors and become advocates for positive change. Working together, we can build healthier communities and eventually, the healthiest nation. But we need your help to get there.”

Important conversations

This year, National Public Health Week, which is from April 1-7, addressed daily themes such as: Healthy Communities; Violence Prevention; Rural Health; Technology and Public Health; Climate Change; and Global Health.


That’s a very insightful week of very relevant topics. National Public Health Week provides a great catalyst to an ongoing movement.
