Karla Lopez, MPH, FNP-C, is a compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to preventive, evidence-based medicine and LGBTQ+ healthcare. After immigrating from Mexico at 12 and overcoming language barriers, she was inspired to pursue nursing following her sister’s battle with cancer. This experience shaped her commitment to patient education and advocacy, particularly for underserved communities. Fluent in English and Spanish, she prioritizes building trusting relationships with patients to ensure they feel heard and supported.
Ms. Lopez earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA, followed by a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Health Promotion. She later completed her graduate nursing studies at CSULA, combining clinical expertise with a strong public health foundation. She began her career at APLA Health, specializing in LGBTQ+ and HIV care, before transitioning to family medicine at Dignity Health. Now at CVMG, she continues her mission of providing accessible, patient-centered care.
Outside work, Ms. Lopez cherishes time with her husband and their 18-month-old son, traveling, live music, cooking, and the outdoors.
